NBÜ 2004 (EBO) - Safety Control Unit

Because of the new guideline “Requirements for fire and catastrophic protection in the construction and operation of railway tunnels”, all local transport vehicles must meet new requirements in the form of an emergency brake override. The guidelines stipulate that vehicles must be equipped with the “NBÜ 2004” (EBO) system by no later than June 30, 2011.
AAIT has developed a compact Safety Control Unit (SCU) for rapid retrofitting that meets all requirements.


Safety control unit up to SIL 3

AAIT has designed a universal safety control unit for recurring tasks in the railway vehicle. The programmable controller is certified up to SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508, and numerous typical railway functions have already been developed and expertly assessed up to SIL 3 in accordance with EN 50128. The controller can be upgraded remotely and provides flexible application options.
